Building NextGen Entrepreneurs in Greater Lowell
In January, more than 60 students from Greater Lowell Technical High School and Community Teamwork Inc.’s YouthBuild program visited the UMass Lowell Innovation Hub to kick off the start of a new, collaborative entrepreneurship program supported by local nonprofit organization Project LEARN.
Over the course of the semester, students from across Greater Lowell will learn the skills needed to become a future leader in business and have the opportunity to compete in a final pitch challenge to win prize money to fund their business ideas. The program, which seeks to equip more young people with an entrepreneurial mindset and the skills to design their own business model, is a spinoff of the collaborative partnership first launched in spring 2024 between Lowell High School, UML’s Rist DifferenceMaker Institute, and Project LEARN.
This event and expanded version of the program is made possible through the Urban Agenda Grant Program, which was awarded to CTI in fall 2024.
